Short History

This zoo has a unique history, specifically because this attraction located in the state of Texas was founded more than 100 years ago. When this zoo was founded in 1909, it only had one African lion, two very small bears, a beautiful peacock, a crocodile, several rabbits and a coyote. This zoo really had very few animals.

But, in 1991 it became city property, and the city of Fort Worth raised a large amount of money, that is, thanks to the community this attraction improved drastically. The city's main goal was to buy more animals.

A year later, the zoo managed to inaugurate several exhibits, the most popular of which are: World of Primates and Asian Falls. But not only that, during the 90s the zoo also founded an educational center, a Komodo dragon exhibit, cheetahs, and a veterinarian.

Also, in 2016 the zoo managed to renovate most of the exhibits. With a capital of 100 million dollars this zoo managed to improve all its facilities. New habitats, new exhibits, spaces for special events, bathrooms and dining rooms were also built.
